GNOME Privacy Policy

GNOME
privacy policy.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This policy describes the upcoming GNOME 1.6 release and explains how DigiColony handles information in that version and on its pages at digicolony.com/gnome. Contact us at mwood@digicolony.com.

1. Information saved on your device

GNOME stores campaign progress, current puzzles, saved scans, marks, daily attempts and results, Stardust, booster inventory, purchase-delivery records and preferences on your device. These records allow you to continue playing and help prevent the same purchase being delivered twice. They may be included in your device’s backup, according to your Apple backup settings. GNOME does not provide a player account or automatic cloud sync between devices.

2. Optional gameplay analytics

If you turn on gameplay analytics in Settings, GNOME uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how puzzles are played and where the game could improve. Events can include mission or daily puzzle identifiers, progress, attempts, active play time, scans, misses, remaining resources, hints and boosters, virtual currency changes, store activity and verified purchase events.

Analytics can also include randomly generated installation, attempt and event identifiers, app and operating-system versions, device information and approximate region information processed by the service. These identifiers can distinguish an installation or attempt; we do not describe this information as fully anonymous. GNOME uses Firebase Analytics without advertising-ID support. The app does not manually include board coordinates, hidden paths, player-written text or purchase transaction IDs in its custom gameplay events.

Analytics is off by default. You may turn it off at any time in Settings. This stops new gameplay analytics events and resets local analytics data. It does not automatically delete information already received by Google. You can play with analytics off.

3. Optional crash reports

If you turn on crash reports, Firebase Crashlytics helps us diagnose failures. Reports can contain crash traces, app and operating-system versions, device model and technical state, timestamps, and installation or session identifiers. Crash reports are off by default and are a separate choice from gameplay analytics.

You can change this choice in Settings. After turning crash reports off, restart GNOME for the change to take full effect. Changing the setting does not automatically erase previously uploaded reports. Google’s Firebase privacy information describes its diagnostic data and handling practices.

4. Purchases

Apple processes purchases through the App Store. GNOME uses StoreKit to verify a purchase and deliver the items to your local save. Apple may process account, billing and transaction information under Apple’s privacy policy. DigiColony does not receive your payment card details. Verified purchase events may be sent to Firebase when you choose to enable gameplay analytics.

5. Information you send us

If you email support, we receive your email address and the contents and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request, investigate problems and maintain relevant support records. Please send only what is needed to explain the issue. Do not send passwords or payment card details.

If you use a sharing action in GNOME, the content goes to the destination you choose through the system share sheet. The destination’s own privacy practices apply.

6. Visiting the GNOME website

The GNOME pages are part of the DigiColony website, hosted on Vercel. Hosting services process network requests, including IP address and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate usage statistics, such as pages visited, referring sites, approximate location, browser, operating system and device type.

Vercel describes this analytics service as using a request-derived hash rather than third-party cookies and as not tracking visitors across unrelated sites. See Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation and Vercel’s privacy policy. GNOME’s in-app switches do not control website analytics. These pages do not offer account registration or a contact form; support links open your email application.

7. Why we use information and who receives it

We use information to operate the game and website, deliver purchases, answer support requests, understand gameplay when you opt in, and fix failures when you opt in. Google provides optional analytics and crash reporting, Apple provides the App Store and device services, and Vercel hosts and measures this website. Email providers process support correspondence. Providers may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable terms and safeguards.

GNOME has no advertising network integration. DigiColony does not sell GNOME player information or use it for cross-app advertising. Where a legal basis is required, optional analytics and diagnostics rely on your consent. Necessary delivery and purchase processing support the service you request; support, reliability and website security also serve our legitimate interests, subject to your rights. Information may be disclosed if required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

8. Retention and deletion

Local game data remains until removed from the device or replaced. Deleting the app can remove its local save, including consumable balances. Copies in device backups are managed through your Apple backup settings. Deleting the app is not a request to erase previously uploaded analytics or crash reports.

Analytics and diagnostic records are subject to the relevant Google service’s retention controls and policies. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests, maintain relevant records and meet legal obligations. Retention periods differ according to the record type and the provider’s settings.

To ask about access, correction or deletion of information we hold, email mwood@digicolony.com. We will assess your request, explain what information we can identify and what actions are available, and respond as required by applicable law. Because GNOME has no account, an email address alone may not identify an analytics installation. We may need limited additional information to verify a request. We cannot remotely recover or erase a local save on your device.

9. Your rights and children’s information

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You can withdraw optional app consent in Settings without affecting your ability to play. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.

GNOME does not ask players to create a profile, enter a name or provide a date of birth. We do not knowingly request children’s personal information through the game. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and address it.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the game, providers or data practices change. We will update the date on this page and provide additional notice or choices when required. For privacy questions, contact DigiColony at mwood@digicolony.com.
